the oil problem has been gradually getting worse... the idle problem just sort of went away w/o me doing anything....tranny seems to be fine as problems surrounding it have disipated thanks again guys... you save me time and time again... where is the PCV valve?

should be located around the valve cover. It will have a hose that runs to the carb/ throttle body base.

ok... heres the deal- there is oil reaching the spark plugs in the civic now. origianlly it was lurching while i drove it especially in the lower gears (at tran) but when i rep-laced the plugs everything was great again for about amonth when the lurching slowly started up again. then, the toher day, i was driving and the car died on me at an intersection and now it wont start (turn over but wont start). i changed the plugs and put in a new distributor but it didnt seem to help. there doesnt seem to be electricity reaching the plugs. my friend tells me i need a new coil? is this an ignition coil? is $99 a good price for this piece? what do you think...

good news... i changed the coil and she is running again... any tips on how to up my mpg?

Have you changed the wires along with the plugs? Maybe a new air filter and fuel filter may help.
