My van runs perfectly, then without any rhyme nor reason it will die. when this happens, I pull over, turn off the ignition and then turn it back to run. If the check engine light comes on it will start and run perfectly agian, if it does not come on, then I must turn it off agian and wait. eventually the light will come on, and it will start. The computer has been replaced (2x), several relays, plugs, wires, cap, rotor and coil, ignition switch, battery, o2 sensor, local mechanics baffeled. computer analysis reveals nothing. when disabled(not running) there seems to be no power to the engine electronics. Help!

Have them check all connections under the fuse and relay panel under the hood. There is probably a wire that is shorting out when moving and drops away after it stops. Chased one for 2 weeks like it. Time consuming and frustrating. Maybe someone with more Dodge knowledge will come by and help more. OH DAN!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry for the slow response I didn’t see this thread. The problem sounds like it might be the ignition feed circuit. What I’ve found on a few Dodge’s is this dark blue wire has a couple of slices in it to feed the different items, these splices are stamp welded together and then for some unknown reason they are only taped to insulate them and stuffed in the wiring loom. One or more of the wires in the splice may be corroded to the point they are disconnecting when they are heated or vibrated. Finding these splices is kind of like search and rescue on the different models. This dark blue wire can be found at the auto shut down relay, fuel pump relay, Ignition switch, diagnostic connector, purge solenoid, EGR solenoid, and the computer, some were between all of these you’ll find the different splices. The worst part about chasing these down are when you find them and they’re intact, but you won’t know for sure until you do find them. Dan.
