My car has been constantly leaking oil very slowly over the past 2 weeks or so. The shop that changes my oil recommended that I try some oil stop-leak to see if it would reset the seal(gasket). Within about an hour of putting the stop-leak in and topping the oil off, all the oil had drained out, resulting in a breakdown on the highway. I sat for a few minutes and tried to restart the car, with success, yet it was sputtering. Got off the highway and pulled into a parking lot. Checked the engine, no smoke visible, checked the oil, no oil whatsoever showed on the dipstick and the hole was smoking slightly when the dipstick was pulled out. Engine wouldn't even turn over at this point and within a matter of 15 minutes the battery went dead. No idea as to the cause of this since nothing was wrong before this instance except the slow oil leak. While waiting on someone to pick me up, the computer was making random, clicking noises even without the keys in the ignition. The dials on the dashboard would also occassionally flicker until the battery was completely dead. So, in a nutshell, in an area of like an hour I went from a slow oil leak to complete oil loss, a dead battery, and (possibly?) a fried computer or wiring problems... Did I ruin my engine? What's wrong?
P.S. Not sure on other specific details such as 'X.X Liter', etc. If any other info is needed please respond and I will come up with whatever I possibly can.

Hello grimnirallmektiga. Wow, what a story. It began with a minor oil leak, you added Stop Leak and the leak got worse? To the point the oil completely emptied? Well sounds to me as if you had a major seal leak at a critical location, such as the seal around the oil filter or near the engine head gasket. But it's too late for that troublshooting, so next is the concern for your enging status. If you drove the car even for 15 minutes without oil, I am will to bet thge walls of your cylinders are scored beyond use. I would not be surprised that a few of your Valves have warped also. It does not surprise me to hear you say your battery went dead. This is normal, becuase of the extreme heat the engine creates when it is run without it's necessary fluids the metal parts tend to expand. Because of this expansion, they internal parts will cause the engine to drag or even lock up. When you tried to turn the engine over , it required more ampreage to turn it than what is normally required. Hence, the battery drains within 5-7 minutes. My opinion, if you ran the engine with oil , I am sure you caused some damage. Hopefully the damge will not be serious enough to keep the engine from becoming unusable. But I would not be surprised if you return here and tell us that your engine is shot. Expert the worse, but maybe it will not be too bad in the end.....IDOL
