I have reliable transportation.
Im wanting to buy a mercedes bens (second vehicle), from a used dealership by my house. It starts and works, but i dont know how long that will last. I have welding experience with oxyacylene and standard arc 1080 or 1060 rods(i forget). Ive also been to a few scrap yards, for minor peices of metal. never any car parts though, but i do know they sell parts off of vehicles. would trying to fix my own car without any experience be possible? what problems would I encounter, that might be beyong an amatuer? Im guessing I need the manual for I know what parts preform, where and when. Things like cracks and holes seem like easy fixes to me because I could just replace them and weld a new part in... but what about anything behind the dash board thats electronic. also, do i have to worry about higher insurance, or safety fees or inspections if I rebuild a vehicle?
