Hello. We have a 98 F150 4.6 automatic that sets a code for Cannister Vent Solenoid circuit failure. It has set this code 4 times in the last year. We have replaced the solenoid twice, found broken return wire and repaired it and now it is on again. I believe the code is P1451. I am at home now and may not have right code. However, we ran the test as per Ford PC/ED Manual and can find no bad readings. Just looking for a little support on this one cause the tech has had me back there off and on for 2 days. Only thing I find confusing is if the PCM is plugged in, we read 332 ohms on power wire to ground at CV connector?? Should be infinity?? Replaced PCM with another, same year, same engine, same thing!! If we unplug PCM we read 5.2 megaohms? Other resistance in same circuit?? This circuit feeds a lot of different components. So, if you have any thoughts ideas or beer, send them my way.

Man I wish I could help with this, but any kind of EVAP code still has me lost. If the gas cap ain’t loose I’m done. LOL So come on people I need to know this fix as well and don’t leave out any details on how to diagnose it. Dan.

Let truck sit over night and the readings can not be duplicated. All ohms readings, voltage readings are where they should be. Send me some of your drinkin' Dan.
