I recently purchased a new rad for the old ride, (equipped with the legendary 'reverse flow' cooling system) and the new one did not have the 'aeration tube' nipple on the passenger side of the tank. I called the vendor and after a bit of research, he explained that the manufacturer states (rough quote)"that the 94 and some 95 Caprices have the aeration tube, but it was deemed not necessary, and on later models was eliminated. Cut the tube to shorter length and plug with a correct size screw, use the old hose clamp to secure. This will assist in quicker heater warm up and poses no problem with the engine." Is this correct?? Will it work??? Should I return the rad and purchase the 'correct' one???
Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks. Rick

Personally, if you brought it to me, I'd ensure that I replaced the original with the same exact type. Save on any problems later that you might incurr and never realize what is causing them..........idol
