I just bought a 2001 Ford Taurus from an auction. I did the checks before ever bidding on it and everything work. I won it and went to get it and I couldn't get it to go into any gear. It wouldn't move out of park. Found out that it might need a new brake switch, but there is something else. It seems that most of my electronics are not working that were when I checked it out before bidding. All the fuses are good and can't seem to find out what is wrong with it. Can anyone HELP???!!!

Hi carman, interesting complaint. Allow me to begin by asking you a couple of questions. What type checks did you do while looking at the car? Did you get the chance to insert the Key into the ignition and turn the key to get power on the instrument panel? If you did get this chance, did you try stepping on the brake pedal to ensure that the transmission shift lever will move through all positions freely? If you didn't get the opportunity to power up the car then it is possible the release switch at the brake was already faulty. What other of your electronics is not working?? What do you mean by most? If you can provide us with some idea I think we can help you get a better feel for what is happening with your car! Write and let us know and we'll go from there. IDOL
