My 1994 Ford Escort, 1.8 TD, keeps overheating. I took it on a long journey, and near the end of the journey, the temperature guage in the dash was on the red, and my car was steaming from under the bonnet. After leaving the car stood for a few days, its still over heating after only ten minutes of driving. Also the fan doesn't seem to be working. Also when i tried to start it again, after it stood for two days, it took ma while to get it going (even with jump leads from my other car) and i heard bubbling from my coolant reservoir. The reservoir wasn't hot either because i checked. Could anybody suggest anything to fix it please?

Hi Johnboy, if you haven't already done it, replace your Thermostat. Additionally, since you have to drain the system to replace the Thermostat, you might as well flush the system also. If the fan(s) are not running then I would also check the OHMs of the thermostatic sensor that regulates the fan opertaion, typically on 94's (small block fords) these devices tend to fail. But from your description above, it sounds more like you have a sticky thermostat....IDOL
