96 Acura Integra LS 97 k miles Automatic
Call it paranoia or call it curious, but when I shift from "park" over to drive it sorta JUMPS.....its not as smooth of a transiation as it used to be.....is this a simple fluid check or could this be worse?
thanks...

Hi Jeremy, Allow me to begin by asking a question. When was the lst time you did a transmission fluid and filter change?? If you haven't had this done in the 97K miles that have been put on the transmission , then if you brought the car to me this would be the first action I'd recommend. You see over time, trans fluid loses it's viscosity,in simple terms it's ability to perform its work. Old fluid, just like old engine oil gets thin and weak. So allow me to suggest you start with a fluid and filter change if you haven't done this at all. Then let us know if this helped, if not we can troubleshoot from there, I'm willing to bet it the transmission performance will improve. Over to my colleagues for their thoughts on your problem, and my suggestions, "re-tired, way2old, DanD" what do you guys think?? IDOL

Well, Idol. It ain't a Ford so I am at a loss on the internal workings. But your advice seems logical and sound. So I will agree with you on this procedure. I know re-tired will chime in. ;D
