Hello I hope you guys can help. I recently bought a 95 Taurus V6 auto trans with 62k on it its real clean but has a brake/abs problem. So... The rear brakes were grinding so I replaced pads rotors and calipers. Now I cant seem to get any pressure to the rear calipers. I checked that valve in the rear - pressure into it and out. This vehicle has the early abs system and I am wondering if there is a way to jump , at the diagnostic connector, the ABS pump to cycle it. Ive read that you need a scanner for that .... is it true...dont have one. Someone told me that there was a way to do this The ABS light is on right now.. could be another problem.. It is a Ford Thanks for your ear

Sorry error in last post
Brake fluid to the rear valve and out, but little to no pressure.... front brakes work fine.
Thanks

Since you;re getting an ABS light allow me to recommend going to your local AutoZone and ask them to downlaod the code(s). This will help you to get a better understanding of which part is causing you grief.
Because you have all way disc braking, and you opened the lines at the rear, it is very possible you caused the proportioning valve to shut off the rear entirely. Its a safety feature. The procedures to reset the valve vary from system to system and manufacturer to manufacturer.
You will need do some research to determine how to rest the the system, but I'm willing to bet you'll have to go to a brake shop or the dealer to have the valve reset. Wish I could give a better answer but I'm thinking the proportioning is locked and the rear is shut down. Let me know what you find...Idol
