Hi,
I have a 2002 Saturn SL1 w/AC (1.9L engine I think) and plan on replacing the serpentine belt.
Can anyone tell me the size wrench I need to loosen the tension pulley? There is no indication on the diagram that tells how the belt is threaded.
Thanks much! Todd.

I’m not sure of the wrench size, it’s either a 13 or 15 mm; the tensioner may have a square notch that you would use a 3/8 ratchet to release the tension on the belt. It’s pretty strait forward as to how once you start. It can be a little tight to get your hands, whatever tools and the belt all in there but a bit of patience will go a long way. If you go to this application guide and enter your cars info it’ll have the routing diagram that you’ll want. www.mvreader.com/cgi-bin/multiview/dayco.cgi?autoCatalog=1&l=nDan.

Thanks for the reply! I talked with a guy at a local parts store who thought it was 15mm for GM cars. I tried to get my socket over the hex nut but it wasn't wide enough (and then I dropped it into no-mans land ) He said they have a wrench I could borrow with a small deposit so I'll be going there tomorrow. Thanks for the link, too. I'll check it out. There is a diagram under the hood. Unfortunately they didn't list the wrench size needed.
