Hello all you brilliant minds ;D. Got a Honda Civic Hybrid that is giving a P1679. All I can find on the internet is it has something to do with loss of power to some module. We put it in service in Feb of 03, so I am not sure if it is an 02 or 03 (at home now). If anyone has any ideas, throw them out. Going to the farm early Saturday and will not have internet access till I get home Sunday evening. So you have some time to scratch your heads and find a brilliant answer. By the way, does anyone know of site that can be accesses for trouble codes for the Honda's? I found one site, but it does not show that particular code number. Honda wants to sell their information and the City will not up the money. See y'all when I return to civilization.

This all I could find. P1679 - RSCD Signal Circuit Malfunction. You could try this site honda-tech.com/zeroforum?id=18 they sound like a bunch of young want to be racers but it wouldn’t hurt to ask them. I haven’t even been able to find out what RSCD is yet and I’m stuck at home right know and can’t get to my shop computer. You’ll get a laugh out of this, my daughters Camry is at the shop with an oil pump cover seal blown out of it, so she’s driving the wife’s Olds, wife has my Dakota on a weekend shopping trip with the girls. My son’s Firebird is in storage for the winter so he’s using the Sunbird to get to work and here I sit paying for five different vehicles to be on the road with no friggin wheels for me to use. LOL Dan.

Thanks Dan. Now all I got to do is figure out what that is. Thanks for the time for your research. If I find repair, I will post it.

This is what Mitchell has on the code. “This test requires access to Motor Control Module for Integrated Assist (IMA) system. Diagnosis and repair should be accomplished only by a certified Honda technician due to possible personal injury or death from high voltage.” I still haven’t found out what the acronym RSCD stands for but it has something to do with the transmission as far as I can make out and that’s only a guess. Because of these wiring diagrams. Dan. Sorry for the size of the diagrams, I couldn't read it any smaller and I'm not sure if your eyes are any better. LOL

Thanks Dan. The bigger the better (wife says so). Found the problem. Battery was low and I guess the voltage dropped below the default setting and tripped the code. Still don't completely understand the system. Howver, I ordered the manuals today. Little over 100$ for just the Hybrid. Director gonna crap when he sees the bill for one vehicle. But, if he gonna buy them, he gotta pay to fix em. See ya
