Hey everyone I got a question . 99 Taurus.... Changing lower balljoint , disconnected everything but when I go to pop it out of the control arm it just won't come. The joint is failing before the stud will come out of the arm. My solution is cutting torch to cut stud in two. Anyone else run into this problem? Did the other side last year with the same story.

Just did one last week that was doing the same thing as you explained. I ended up hammering in the splitting fork in as far as I dare, to put some tension on the joint and then got out the air hammer. The threads on the old ball joint were a bit mushroomed but after a few hits with the air hammer it popped the thing apart. You gota love the air hammer, except for the noise the thing makes. Dan.

As the years go by , the airhammer noise gets less and less.
