Hey guys Just got back from a great week’s worth of fishing on the west arm of Lake Nipissing. It was so nice the get away from the shop and just sit and relax on the boat with my brother and brother in-law. Caught lots of fish, Northern Pike, Walleye, Bass and the lodge owners were great as usual making sure there wasn’t anything we needed. Had some trouble with the boat motor and while I was waiting for the part to come in, Rick the owner gave us his personal boat to use. That’s just one example of the way they look after you while you’re there it made for a great week. Here’s a few of the pictures. The first couple is of the main lodge. The next one’s are of the average size of Pike. Yea the first one is of me with my mouth open again. This one is to show what 90% of the shore line looks like. Dan.

There you go again Dan. You take off on these trips and we have no idea why we were not invited. Sometimes it seems like you want to get away from us. ;D Guess I don't blame you. Glad you had a good trip and a relaxing time.

Looks like a hell of a nice place Dan, glad you had a good time. That shoreline looks a lot different than the lake I just came back from, no rocks and boulders down here. Lol.

Hey the best way to cook up pike is in a beer and pancake batter mix, heat up enough oil to about 350-degree to float the filets. Drop in a filet covered in the beer batter mix, three minutes later you’re in heaven with the best tasting piece of meat you have ever tasted. A couple of ice-cold Canadian beers and maybe a plate of baked beans as a side and you guy’s won’t want to go home. Shit I live here and I can’t wait to head back up to North Bay and Lake Nipissing Dan. P.S. The Banner out in front of the lodge happens to be a sign of a good thing and we here should waive it a bit more. Yea maybe it also means maple syrup to some, but you have to be good to make something as sweat as CANADIAN MAPLE SYRUP. LOL

I haven’t had any pike in a long, long time. We used to catch them when I lived in upstate New York but that’s been like 30+ years ago. Hey Dan, wana trade some pike for some good southern catfish? Re-tried you can keep the damn grits, that’s one thing I’ve never acquired a taste for.

I have never had the chance to try catfish well that’s not really true I’ve had the chance but I can’t get past unhooking one let alone skinning one. To me they feel like you’re holding on to an old leather boot that’s been sitting on the bottom of the lake for the last 20 years. LOL People tell me though that the meat is really good. Tell you what Mike if we ever get a chance to fish together, I’ll clean and cook the Pike and you do the cats. Dan.
