93 nissan altima, automatic, approx 160,000 miles, no lights on...okay...when running, hard start, runs fine, all of a sudden feels like it is putting, trying to cut out while foot is on gas. Stalls out, mostly when coming to a stop, sometimes just when idling low. When it stalls out, cranks and cranks and finally will start after about 15 mins. Drive and starts putting, trying to stall again. Maybe get it home and let it sit and will crank but not start again for 1-2 wks at a time. Everything above is a cycle we have been going through. Before this happened, fuel injector was replaced and o-ring. 3 of 4 injectors have been replaced, i believe in past 1-2 yrs. Getting spark and fuel-so we are told. PLEASE HELP!!!!

Have you had the fuel pressure tested while the car is doing its thing? If not you may need to have a fuel pressure gauge connected to the system just to verify that the pump is producing the proper pressures. The pressure during cranking should be around 43psi, when running at idle around 34psi. It should also hold the pressure after the car is shut off for at least 5 to 10 minutes. With the hard starts and the loss of power, a fuel pressure test would be the first place I would start checking. Dan.

Hi ceefitz55, Don't know if you've solved this problem alreayd, but I had the exact same problem on my 94 Altima w/ 180K miles. Turns out this is a common problem on earlier Altimas. It's a problem with the distributor.. somehow oil seeps into it and messes up the sensors.. I've read that it can be cleaned out, but will come back again. I had my entire distributor replaced (not just the cap) and car has been working fine for the past year.. Tony
