I am considering buying a 2006 Aveo. Its somewhat a replacement by GM for the Metro, which I have owned two of before, and presently have a Suzuki Swift, which is basically the same. My 96 and 88 Metro were made by Suzuki, and I have grown to like the workmanship of them. The dealer wasn't too keen on telling me who was making them for Chevrolet . He said it was some company from another country, but that was it.I assume if I get to open the hood, I can find out. But he has yet to offer that. So my question is does anyone know who makes them these days for GM? And also any thing bad or good would be appreciated. The 88 had a three cylinder engine, I put over 190,000 miles on that one.My 96 got slightly less ,due to a teenage driver :(. Thanks Allan

WOW Thanks for the link. I'm not too concerned with the crashes , if they aren't related to the car, but I now have a name to do some hunting on.On a quick search, I see that there already is a problem with parts for the repairs.I'm disappointed they didn't stay with the Suzuki brand.Guess I'm leaning more to the Cobalt, unless theres trouble on that front as well. Again, thanks Allan

Just a quick question. Who makes the Cobalt? I have a Prism, made by Toyota. and its been very good. But overall, thanks for the info. The more I see the less I like. and the troubles date back a couple of years into the 02's.People claim they cant get parts and they still owe on the cars. Allan
